Sunday Gathering | 10:00am(ish)

1405 E. Walnut St. | Evansville, IN 47714

This is our largest gathering, and what is typically known as the Sunday service. We are grateful for time together in conversation, singing/worship, teaching and communion. Donuts, coffee and conversation preclude the beginning of our gathering and we usually get started around 10:15. Small Groups

Small groups will be restarting in the fall with a foundations in community series. In this study, you’ll spend more time discovering the central functions God intends for Christian community, most startling, to provide a temple in which God can dwell in this world. Then you’ll identify a set of life habits that will help you fulfill those functions: humility, story, unity, service, and forgiveness. Time will be given for each member to share their story, amongst the group.

Small groups are a space to be mentally, emotionally, and relationally present to others, God and self. We believe much formation, restoration, and growth in love happens as we meet together in these type of communities. That being said, a commitment to weekly presence (at least through fall study), as well as a willingness to be honest and vulnerable with others, God, and yourself is expected.

The Monthly Feast

Once a month we enjoy a feast in which we gather around tables to remember, reflect, pray, sing, eat, and celebrate together, in what we have traditionally known as Communion/the Lord’s Supper/Eucharist/etc. This is done partly as a larger group through liturgy and song, as well as more intimately through intentional conversation and reflection around your table. It is a larger scale of communion and shared hospitality, derived from the gatherings of the early church. We will incorporate some elements of the biblical feasts and the modern day church calendar as we gather throughout the year.

This is a great space for those who are looking to have intentional conversation with others and draw closer with Christ together, but may not be in a time or season to commit to a small group. It is also an open space for any small groups to include as part of their rhythm of meeting together, amongst a larger gathering.

As per the early church, much of the “work of introspection” in which we commonly now associate with communion, was done before the gathering. In light of this, we will provide you with some information and questions for reflection to spend some time processing before our time together each month. There is a great teaching from John Mark Comer you can listen to here, that will help you understand the history of the meal, our intention and invitations within the structure of our evenings (as well as preparation before), and our longings to return to the table in this lovely way.

Creative Space

This is an intentional time to connect with God in the creative space. The time usually begins with a slowing down practice that helps us settle our hearts, minds, and bodies and connect with God. From there, you are free to create. You may bring along something you are working on or feel free to work with supplies we have on hand. The term, creative, is by no means attached with profession or performance. We want this to be a space unattached from performance and free to fill your soul as you truly connect with God. A creative pursuit can be anything that uses our right brain functions. It does not have to be painting or drawing, and people work on a number of things from writing, to coloring, making and working with their hands, and even to enjoying and responding to God through the art/work of others.

Prayer

A group of folks meet weekly before service to engage in prayer. This may happen in a number of ways including praying through the Book of Common Prayer or other liturgical prayers together, simply checking in and praying for one another, and always spending a time of prayer over the Sunday morning gathering.

Ladies

We meet every couple months or so for afternoon tea at AJ’s house. This entails some thoughtful questions and a space for good conversation. No, we’re not here to “spill the tea” but rather usually end up “filling our cups.” Enjoy good snacks, tea, and some space to engage in meaningful connection. Check out the calendar for upcoming dates.

Leadership Community

We desire leadership to be far more than a collection of individuals, each responsible for some task or ministry role, in which we check in together. We seek to create a community that continually holds space to discern the movement of God among us, respond in humble gratitude and partnership, and spiritually companion one another well along our journey. Above all, we seek to create an authentic, deep spiritual community that is transformed by the times in which we gather. Leadership community gatherings occur monthly, usually the second Saturday morning of the month.

There is likely some “area of ministry” or “life in the church” in which you are or have been committed and moving deeper into as an act of loving service. Leadership roles here leave room for what is often a bit untraditional. We hope to create space for people to move into that which God is moving in them. All together, we commit to a growing relationship within our “spiritual trellis” and building the support of an individual and corporate rule of life together.
