Welcome to
Pray EVV
United in prayer for renewal in our city
Behind every great move of God is a group of people passionately praying—crying out for renewal. We want to stand in the gap. If God is preparing to move, we don't want to miss it. We want to participate in the movement of God in our time. And so, like the people of God have for centuries, we are uniting in prayer.
What is Pray EVV?
Pray EVV is a unified prayer movement in Evansville, IN with a heart for unity in the Church and a longing to see a move of God in our time. We believe that the Spirit of God is stirring—searching the land for those who are hungry. Those who will seek His face. We aren’t connected to any one church community. Our heart is to see unity in the Church of Evansville and renewal in our city.
Why Pray?
Over and over again, the Lord promises that when we seek him, we will find him—when we draw near to him, he will draw near to us. The story of the Church of Evansville is one of brokenness and division, but we long for redemption and reconciliation in the Church, and renewal in our city. This can only be accomplished through the power of the Spirit of God. Which means: It is time to seek the Lord until he comes and sends righteousness on us like rain.
Sow righteousness for yourselves and reap faithful love; break up your unplowed ground. It is time to seek the LORD until he comes and sends righteousness on you like the rain.
Hosea 10:12
A space for prayer.
Of course you can pray in anywhere at any time, but we believe that there is something unique that takes place when you pray intentionally in a space that has been set apart to meet with God. Ancient Celtic Christians describe places where the veil between heaven and earth feels thin using the phrase “thin places”. We have created a space with this in mind.
We’d love for you to sign up for a 1-hour time slot in our 24-7 Prayer Room located at the corner of Walnut and Willow in Evansville, IN.
“Whenever God sets about to do a new thing, he always sets his people praying.”
J. Edwin Orr
How can I use the prayer room?
There are countless ways you can use a space like this, but just to get the ball rolling, here are a few ideas.
-
This type of prayer is sadly minimized and overlooked in the modern-western culture, but is at the heart of Pray EVV. We hold the conviction that prayer moves the heart of God and reveals his Kingdom at work in our midst. And so we partner with the Holy Spirit by contending and intercessory prayer.
-
While the primary purpose for Pray EVV is contending for a move of God in our city, we hold the conviction that personal renewal always precedes collective renewal (to paraphrase Terry Walling). If that is true, solitude and retreat are powerful practices for the people of God.
-
While our space is most often used individually, it’s also a great size for a small group of 6-8 people to gather for prayer, singing, scripture reading, etc. Just make sure to have someone reserve a slot and invite some friends to gather in prayer together.
